The demining side is where the company earns the right to say anything at all about explosive hazard: teams on the ground running desk assessment, survey and clearance, holding themselves to a coordinate system and an evidentiary standard because a released hectare that turns out to be wrong costs someone a limb. That discipline — never claim a location or a status you cannot back with a source — is not a value pinned to a wall. It is the exact standard the intelligence platform runs on.

UXONEWS applies that standard to global reporting instead of a minefield: incidents geolocated to city precision or not placed at all, casualty figures held at the confidence the sources actually support, records revised as reporting develops rather than fixed at first report. It is built by people who have had to stand on the ground it describes, which is a different thing from a newsroom describing a war from outside it.

Run the two together and each does something for the other that neither could do alone. Clearance generates structured, geolocated ground truth as a by-product of being done properly. And the incident record is, among other things, a map of where contamination is being created right now: every strike, every IED, every unexploded round left behind is a future clearance task, logged with coordinates before the mine action side ever opens a file on it.
